Welcome to Novice for the 2011-2012 season!

Welcome to all the players and parents to the Lanark/Carleton Minor Hockey League (LCMHL) Novice Level!

Below is information to help you with the transition from Initiation to the Novice level that participates in the LCMHL:

·    The Novice level plays in the Lanark-Carleton Minor Hockey League (LCMHL).

·    The Novice level is comprised of 2 age groups - 7 & 8 year olds.

·    7-year olds are considered “minor” Novice players.

·    8-year olds are considered “major” Novice players.

·    There are no competitive teams within the Novice level.

·    Novice is the reverse of Initiation levels, A is considered more skilled.

Playing within the LCMHL Novice Level you will travel further to play “away” games at all local participating Minor Hockey Association in ODMHA District 4:

1.        Almonte/Pakenham Minor Hockey Association
2.       Carleton Place Minor Hockey Association
3.       Osgoode/Rideau Minor Hockey Association
4.       Richmond/Munster Minor Hockey Association
5.       Perth/Lanark Minor Hockey Association
6.       Stittsville Minor Hockey Association
7.       West Carleton Minor Hockey Association

There are 10 home games and 10 away games. Games are 50 minutes in duration with two (2) ten minute stop time periods and one (1) twelve minute stop time period, the running clock is set for 50 minutes. Games may begin on weekends as early as 8 AM and games may begin on weeknights as early as 6 PM, no later than 7 PM.

·         Lanark Carleton League season starts Friday October 14, 2011 to Friday December 23, 2011 inclusive and Tuesday January 3, 2012 to Thursday February 16, 2012 inclusive.

·         Due to two different School Christmas breaks the League will commence the hockey Christmas break from Saturday December 24, 2011 to Monday January 2, 2012 inclusive.

·         No games to be scheduled on Monday October 31, 2011 (Tricking and/or Treating evening).

·         Seeding date to determine playoff format is Sunday January 29, 2012 regardless of re-scheduled games still to be played.

·         First Round of playoffs to commence on Friday February 17, 2012 through to Friday March 9, 2012 inclusive.

·         The number of ice times required will be determined by the December league meeting.

·         No games shall be played through the March Break from Saturday March 10, 2012 to Sunday March 18, 2012 inclusive.

You can check statistics on the LCMHL website; it is the responsibility of each team to designate a volunteer to ensure the statistics are updated in a timely manner.

A team official or designate must either fax, e-mail in PDF format, or mail the completed original copy of the game sheet to the LCMHL Novice Statistician (information below). In some cases your association may do this for you.
