Game Re-schedule / Switch

Hi Coaches & Managers,

In the event you need to re-schedule games during the 2011-2012 season.

Here are the guidelines to follow and everyone is encouraged to work co-operatively with each other.

You can switch/re-schedule to a maximum of 3 times during the season.

1)      Request permission to re-schedule/switch a game by email with the following, this must be completed 14 days in advance:

a.       Division

                                                               i.      i.e. “Novice A” or “Novice Greenline”

b.      Requesting Team Name

c.       Game #

d.      Date/time/location

e.      Reason for Re-schedule

Of note: Only when the re-scheduled game is accepted by the opposing team will the re-scheduled game be approved.

 

2)      If you are the “away” team:

a.       Review your schedule for an opportunity to trade the away game and “switch” with another team.

                                                               i.      This allows the home team to retain the scheduled ice time.

b.      If you cannot find a suitable switch, request the home team provide you with an alternate ice time to play the game.

 

3)      If you are the “home” team:

a.       If you are in a division whereby your Association hosts multiple teams, you may have the option to “switch” with the home team from your Association.

b.      If you need to re-schedule and cannot swap the home ice time, you need to contact your home Association ice scheduler to provide alternate ice times to the opposing team to re-schedule the game.

 

**For points 2 & 3 above, no need to involve the Statistician during negotiation (unless communication channels are not open and my intervention is required).

4)      Attached forms:

a.       Form for Re-Schedules:

                                                               i.      Once the opposing team has accepted the new date/time, submit the attached form with the details to the statistician along with the email showing approval from the opposing team’s coach or manager.

b.      Form for Switches:

                                                               i.      Submit the attached form for swaps.

 

5)      Upon submission of form:

a.       Statistician provides email confirmation of acceptance & approval (if granted)

                                                               i.      For swap: team must notify the home team of the swap

b.      Statistician tracks re-schedules/switches for 3 game max per team

c.       Goalline website updated

 

6)      Referees/Timekeepers:

a.       It is the responsibility of the Home Team to notify their Home Association Referee Scheduler and timekeepers (if applicable).
